Welcome from the Headteacher

At St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy we aim to achieve the best from our students in everything they do.

I am delighted to welcome you to our website and I hope that it provides you with a flavour of life at St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy. Through a three – way partnership between home, school and parish we aim to work together to ensure our children achieve their potential. We believe that a happy child is a fulfilled child and therefore our strong pastoral system is of key importance to us. Our Catholic faith underpins everything that we do and ensures that our pupils are well rounded, confident young people with increasingly high aspirations. We are on an exciting journey at SPH and we firmly believe that by working together all our pupils will have a bright future ahead.

Welcome from the Student Leadership Team

Hi, my name is Darcey and I’m really proud to be Head Girl at Saint Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy. I’m part of the Student Leadership Team and I also lead the Chaplaincy Team. I love Drama, Art and History, and I’m planning to study Performing Arts at college and then hopefully go on to university. One of my favourite memories this year was being in our school production of Matilda – I played Mrs Trunchbull and it was such an amazing experience!

Hi, my name is Toby and I’m Head Boy, I am really lucky to work alongside Darcey and the rest of our student leadership team. I love Computer Science, Geography and Maths and I’m planning on studying Computer Science at college.

Together, we want to show students that getting involved in school life makes a massive difference – whether that’s through leadership, sports, performing arts or helping in the community. Both of us agree that SPH feels like a family, and the more you take part, the more confident you become.

Our Catholic faith is a big part of school life too. We show this through Mass, prayer, reflections and Celebrations of the Word. It brings everyone together and reminds us of the values we try to live out every day.
